Jonathan Kennard will begin his bid for the National crown of the British F3 International Series when the championship kicks off at Donington Park next weekend (April 2/3).  The BRDC Rising Star and McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver finalist will contest the 20 round series with established Alan Docking Racing. In testing the 19 year-old from Tunbridge Wells has settled in well and now heads to his favourite track looking for a strong finish. 

The teenager, who will start the season as the youngest driver in the championship, goes into the season aiming for back-to-back titles having won the 2003 FPA Autumn Trophy and last year's Formula Palmer Audi Championship but knows his debut year in F3 will be tough. “I'm looking forward to this year and if I'm honest I'm also a little apprehensive,” said Jonathan.  “Formula 3 will be a change from FPA with regard to the build-up to the races on the weekend. F3 is very competitive, and of course managing qualifying and the races well, will be important to achieve a good result.”

“I'm confident of being able to work well with Alan (Docking) and the whole team and I am lucky enough to have Paul, my mechanic from last year working with me again which will be great. In terms of what I'm expecting, well two poles and two wins I hope!  I think it's more than possible; things have gone really well in testing. Let's face it nothing less than that will be what I want and I have to go out there aiming for that.”

Jonathan's season will begin at Donington Park next Thursday, in official testing prior to the first of two 30 minute qualifying sessions on Saturday at 11.00 and 14.15.  The two races will take place on Sunday at 09.50 and 13.35.
