Jonathan Kennard will line up fifth and sixth for the opening rounds of the National class of the British Formula 3 International Series at Donington Park tomorrow.  The 19 year-old BRDC Rising Star and McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver finalist struggled with understeer in the first 30 minute session at the Leicestershire track.

The problem was rectified for the second held later in the day but a red flag situation which caused the session to be temporarily halted  early on prevented the Tunbridge Wells teenager from capitalising on the improved set-up and optimum tyre temperature as he  was sent into the pits.

“I'm a little bit disappointed obviously to be starting so far down the grid.  But we had a good look at the data after the qualifying and found the problem.  We've made the necessary changes so I'm confident we'll be able to go a lot quicker in the races.”

“I was a bit nervous before the first session but absolutely fine for the second, now I know what to expect out there.  As for the races, well a win would be nice but it's going to be hard without a good grid position but you never know.  A couple of podiums should be possible though and I shall just be hoping for a good clean start.”

The first of two races takes place tomorrow at 09.50 with the second race scheduled to start at 13.35.
