Eighteen year-old Jonathan Kennard from Tunbridge Wells in Kent
backed up his dominant practice performance with double pole
positions for this weekend's third and fourth rounds of the Visma
Software Formula Palmer Audi Championship at Monza.
The reigning FPA Autumn Trophy winner and BRDC Rising Star has
now topped the time sheets in all four sessions around the historic
Italian Grand Prix track and goes into the first of the weekends
two races, held this afternoon, in confident mood. "I'm very
happy, had no problems, it all went perfectly. In the first
session there was a little bit of oil down on the exit of
Parabolica, and I couldn't use the racing line there, but for the
second session it was perfect, the track was a bit warmer so I was
able to go fractionally quicker, I think even my second quickest
lap would have been good enough for pole too."
The youngster, who secured the support of Aedas Architects and
Building Surveyors earlier this year, now hopes to convert his two
pole positions into double race wins. "The start will be
important, particularly the first chicane so I'll be aiming for a
good entry into that, keep my head down and pull away. My lap times
have been very consistent so if I can pull away early enough
hopefully rest will fight amongst themselves."
