Profile

Jonathan Kennard has rapidly established himself as one of Britain's brightest prospects, winning back-to-back FPA Autumn Trophy and Formula Palmer Audi titles, being nominated as a McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver finalist and securing BRDC Rising Star status.

The Tunbridge Wells youngster has just finished only his third season in senior motor racing. He made the step up from karting to car racing in 2001 in the BRSCC T-Cars championship, a unique one-make saloon car series for 14-17 year-olds.  From the outset Jonathan proved to be a very capable and quick driver and was one of the stars of the 2002 season, taking seven podium finishes.

The following year he embarked on a season in Formula Palmer Audi where he finished sixth overall and finished the season on a high with victory in the penultimate round of the year.  His results in the season finale led him into the Autumn Trophy, a four-round mini series featuring the best of the following year's up and coming stars.  His campaign started well with double pole in the first two rounds, a win and second place in the races.  In the final two races he followed that up with third place and his second win to take the crown.

Buoyed by his successes he entered the main series for an assault on the prestigious title determined that victory would be his. His qualifying pace in the races was outstanding, ten pole positions and two other front row starts were converted into four wins, four seconds and one third place, nine podium finishes to take the title even before the final round.

In 2005 the youngster tackled the UK's premier single-seater championship in the scholarship class of the British Formula Three racing at all the major tracks in the country together with the cream of European circuits, Spa-Francorchamps, Monza and Nurburgring. Jonathan showed his talent once more with not only outright speed but also incredible consistancy, failing to finish just one race. Jonathan scored one win and 10 podiums and finished third in the championship against more experienced drivers.

In 2006 Jonathan raced in British F3, again with Alan Docking Racing. This included racing at many British circuits and also the occasional race on the continent, this time however, it was to be in the latest spec Dallara F306, racing with Mugen-Honda in the Championship Class.

Jonathan was a race winner for Raikkonen Robertson Racing in British F3, finishing sixth in the championship. Jonathan was a front runner throughout the 2007 season, with two pole positions, several podiums and 2 lap records to his credit.

In recognition of these perfomances, Jonathan was invited to conduct several tests for the AT&T Williams F1 Team. In addition, Jonathan is now representing AS Roma in Superleague Formula for 2009.

Now in it's second season, Superleague Formula is the fusion of the two of the world's most popular sports - capturing the passion of football with the thrill and excitement of motor racing.

The new concept kicked off in August 2008 with a field of V12-powered 750 horsepower single seater racecars bearing the colours of the world's leading football teams.

Traditional rivals on the pitch will do battle at some of the world's greatest racetracks. This is more than just a race, Superleague Formula will provide a spectacular entertainment package for all the family at each event. Jonathan is delighted to be able to drive on behalf of AS Roma, a giant of European football.
